weaved purse

I love love love this little purse that my niece (soon 4 years old) made. She did the weaving in “barnehagen” and one of the grown ups put it together. I have to remind my niece that my birthday is coming up next week … : )

Haag anyone?

In a couple of weeks I am going to visit Haag. I know next to nothing about this city. Anyone who can give me some tips? I’m thinking of nice restaurants (that will accept a little baby), good shopping (not the luxurious kind), flea markets, art etc etc.. I think you know what I mean. Thanks for sharing!

Now, something completey different… Found this photo today in a local thrift shop. I have a thing for royal accessories and I also love old photos with this kind of coloring. My first intention was to put this up for sale in my epla shop but when my daughter came home and got so excited about the photo (“look! the king!” “se! kongen!”) I decided to keep it (for now anyway).

It is signed Rude and I am thinking it is from the late 50’s since that’s when he was in his early twenties.

Circus

jetteviby
Found this yesterday at my treasure hunt. It will look good over baby Guro’s bed. I prefer having light and soft things over the kids’ beds just in case it would fall down… The fabric circus is by Jette Viby from Denmark. I googled Jette but didn’t find much, just this little blurry picture. All the characters/puppets are missing so I might attach some myself (the little red dots are velcro).

another project

I’ve been told that I have too many little projects going and that I never finish them… Maybe by posting this I get an incentive to at least finish one of them. But I’m not going to tell you exactly what I am going to do (yet), just that it involves this elephant : )

This picture has nothing to do with the project, but I just think this little sign in the miniature cabinet is hilarious (and what is it doing there (it was there when I found it)??) (Translation:” It is forbidden to put fish here !”)

GIVE AWAY

I don’t think I need an occasion to have a give away, but if I do let’s say the occasion is that I will start selling these porcelain jewelleries in my karius shop. They are made by hand (mine!) from vintage/antique china that I find when I go treasure hunting. If you would like to own one of these please leave a comment below and let me know which piece you want. There will be 4 winners and you can leave a comment (1 chance) + become a follower (2 chances) + have a link over at your own blog/site (3 chances). Winners will be announced March 2nd. If you don’t have a blog please make sure to leave some kind of contact info. I will ship internationally (I’ve had visitors from 100 different countries!).

UPDATE: Give away is finished!

I am very eager to hear what you guys think of these kinds of jewelleries!

INDUSTRIAL LOOK

I love this living room and I want to make a wall like this with all kinds of framed art work. Pictures are from last month’s ROM123, see more photos from this apartment here.

I have this wall in my living room in mind (photo by Kathrine Nordli, Aftenposten), wouldn’t it potentially look great with a collage of frames:

In my studio these days, all my items for the karius shop need a place to stay between photo shoot and the post office : ) More photos when ready!

a reminder

I’ve been looking through some old photos of an apartment we used to live in at it kinda makes me remember why I started blogging in the first place. I have always been fund of decorating and rearranging my space, whether it was in my bedroom when I was little or in my own places as a grown up. But I have no documentation of my doings until recently. How fun wouldn’t it have been to see how I did things back then and how my taste, interests and creativity maybe have changed? Some people think that the interior design bloggers are superficial and that we try to make the world think we are flawless with our perfect houses. I could'n’t disagree more. The blogg is about little parts of my life and stuff I would like to remember, like a little note book for myself. And if someone else out there enjoys my little still lebens or creativity why not share? Other, more private, sides of my life I keep record of in other places. I have asked myself why “these people” even bother to visit the interior blogs if it bugs them so much?

If I had been blogging back then I would probably have blogged about this tray…

…and the arrangement of my cds, and maybe even the chair my sister is sitting in, and the old flower pot in the back that used to be my great grandma’s …
Untitled-2
… and these chairs from Åhlens and maybe the view over Grünerløkka from our balcony…. but I would definitely have removed that flower pot before taking the picture, I mean since everything has to look picture perfect ; )

Here are the photos from the sales papers, I think they are the only “interior” pictures I have from this apartment, I wish I had more of the details…

Our Oikos kitchen imported from Italy would have made a great blog post.

Daisy

Found this little baby yesterday at my local thrift shop. It has nags and cracks all over but I just love Daisy from Figgjo. And that I had to pay only 1 kr doesn’t make it any less pleasant !

The lid is so cute, kinda reminds me of both Snusmumriken’s (Snufkin) hat and Lille My’s hair.

Crafts book from the 70’s

Love this book! Remember reading it over and over when I was younger. So many fun projects, though at the time they seemed impossible. How fun it would have been to complete one of them now : )

it took me 15 years…

I’ve literally wanted to do this for the past 15 years and now it is finally done! I hardly ever wear accessories, not because I don’t have them or like them, I just forget what I have hidden in some drawer. Now I don’t have that excuse. Ready for spring! I dream of summer dresses and bare feet in my sandals…
