We are on a short city break in Gothenburg. Found some good tips on Elisabeth’s blog Fine Little Day and went to this cute little cafe, Two Little Birds.

Red beauty
Today my husband told me that “by the way, I have a present for you in the trunk”. By the way?!?!?! Have a look:
It is from his late grandma and he probably had an idea I would appreciate it… and I do, I LOVE IT!

Easter eggs
I have never been very enthusiastic about Easter decoration. Maybe it’s the yellow color, I don’t know. I love yellow, just not the Easter chicken yellow… But this year I am decoration a tiny bit for Easter as we are staying home. Her are home made Easter eggs for Ellen and my nieces.

The wall – finished
Here is my wall, finished, for now any way… The reason why I made it just now was because Romerikes Blad (local paper) has been visiting today, making a story on flea markets : ) Will be in the paper Saturday April 10th, I’ll keep you posted.
The wall consists of flea market and ebay finds. From upper left and clockwise: A tennis racket holder (to keep wooden rackets in shape, I use it as a frame with a softie inside), wooden alphabeth, calendar by Camilla Engman, my painting painted on old wooden board/frame, little wooden frame with the flower which is the cover of a garden book, Luigi Colani elephants are bought on ebay, the duckling is a children’s book in an IKEA frame, birds in frame is an original drawing or print from a local flea market, the yellow racket is bought on a flea market and I have glued on a picture of Ellen, tall blue reproduction bought second hand, monkey is an ebay find, mini painting in pink purple is by Ellen (her first birthday present to her mom : )), blue painting in the middle is by me and the small frames are from flea market and from husband’s childhood. A feel good collection , I think….

background
This is usually how I work: I have a bunch of canvases in front of me and when I have a color I like I splash some of it on each of the canvases, I never work on only one piece alone. I have quite a few backgrounds ready, now I just have to make the foregrounds….

70’s craft
Found these fun books at the local thrift shop and they are from the mid 70’s. How to make softies and kids’ clothes and they come with patterns : )

latest catch
What I like most about this wooden sewing kit is that there are no handles/knobs on top which means it must have been the intention of the designer that this was a multitasking furniture – sewing kit and a side table -me like!! The vase/mug and the book are also recent finds. Mr Fox is an old acquaintance : )

Thrifting again!
It’s been a while since I went thrifting, but last week I made one trip to the local store. Here are some of the stuff I saw (but didn’t buy):

Line Juhl Hansen in BoligLiv
Yesterday I finally got my copy of last month’s BoligLiv and I have been waiting for this since I knew Line (remember Line from my workshop last summer?) and Sidsel’s studio is featured. I did have a sneak peek at Decor8’s covering, check it out for more pictures and English translation.

Local art exhibition – Ingebjørg Thorbjørnsen Mørch
If you are in the neighborhood you should make sure to visit this art exhibition; Ingebjørg Thorbjørnsen Mørch at Evas Ramme og Tegnesenter in Lillestrøm, which is by the way also where I buy most of my art supplies. The exhibition ends March 20th.
