Jukka stool
Love this stool from Finnish Jukka. Got this for baby Ellen this x-mas. I had one when I was little as well.

Thank you for all the sweet feedback : )
Thank you for all the sweet (and not so sweet) comments after the Aftenposten article yesterday. I’ve actually had quite a good laugh reading through the comments on Aftenposten comment service, but maybe I am also a little frightened….
Here are some color splashes from the house today:
Above: Granpa’s old filing cabinet with old and new toys.
One of the advantages of having a no-needles x-mas tree is that you don’t have to throw it out after x-mas, just remove the ornaments! (I would have loved to have a pine tree this year, but being gone most of the x-mas it wasn’t really worth it, hopefully next year…)

Art cards and tags
I had these art cards and gift tags made before x-mas intending to give them away, but they didn’t show up until now. So now I have a bunch of cards… I had 10 different designs (based on my paintings) but only 8 turned out good. They are printed at moo.com

Mixed media
I have these two mixed media pieces that I made about a year ago. I really would like to redo one of them as I don’t really like it. This morning I tore off the glued on pictures and one of them came off as one piece and I thought it was kind of cool. Actually so cool that I decided to keep it. Now it is in a frame (not framed) in our staircase. The little Homepride guys are bought at Ebay.
The origin (blueprints of our original house dated 1922):

x-mas stunt
Honestly I didn’t take down the x-mas deco until today and since it is probably about another 11 months until I can show x-mas stuff again, I am posting the absolutely last x-mas 2009 pictures (I promise!).
Champagne mushrooms: I collect champagne corks (or at least I make my friends collect them!), dip them in paint and paint white dots on – and voila! I think they will make perfect dinner table deco next year.
My x-mas foxes, maybe they get to stay up all year?

Long time ago…
.. I made my first softies, I guess I was between 7-10 years old making these. They have been exposed to light over the years so their faces have faded (don’t we all…?). Can you see the yellow one’s freckles?

red details
ta ta for now!
bye bye X-mas, see you later!
Super size stockings from Barefoot, maybe next year they will be filled? The star has to go for now, but the guys get to stay all year. One new little guy, from Berlin this December.
My favorite advent candle stick holder, thrifted from Aktivum last year.
The little red cabinet is now moved down to the entrance/hallway. The ‘nisser”/gnomes/santas are all from my grandma’s. The two stools are from a flea market probably 1o years ago. Mirror and hanger are also from Aktivum. The mushroom candle holders are from a flea market.
Assorted gnomes collected over the years.
Ornaments from Accesorize and some kind of Fair trade shop.
An oldie found at Aktivum.

This is not new, but I just realized it hadn’t been photographed yet. Now it is.

Grandma’s kitchen
How I love my late grandma’s old kitchen (now my mom’s studio):
My favorite drawer, many hours spent searching, imagining and pretending.
