What's behind the door?
I've finally gotten up some door signs on first floor - now I only got the bathroom left.
For guests...
For the parents...
This one was on our door but was gone after the renovation - guess I have to make a new one.

Today's creativity
I have ambitions... that every day should contain something creative, wether it's painting, thrifting or just finding inspiration for creative acting - anything that makes my creative part of the brain spin a little. Today's action is part of getting the nursery ready. I'm not the kind of person who necessarily do the most important things first ... so today I put up her door sign!
I found the old scrabble game in a local flea market last fall, wooden letters even!

color!
My latest findings:
Some lovely old children's books. Either I'll keep them for baby Ellen or maybe I'll make something out of them, like cards or maybe just frame the drawings. Actually I can just scan them, that way I get to keep the actual book. The Pinoccio one is my favorite. I also found some other colorful cool stuff, a enamel tea kettle - bright yellow! Love it! And the bright red 70's bedside lamp.
And look at these little fellas, they are actually the handles of a jumping rope, I thought they were too cute to leave behind!

Happy cat!
Yesterday I went to Aktivum and got the leather chair for Buster that I talked about earlier. I have been looking at it for a while and now I finally decided to get it. And Buster got comfortable right away! Today I found some other goodies (yes, I am a regular...);colorful fabric, framed picture for the nursery and last but not least a Moses basket for baby Ellen. perfect for her little nap in my studio : )

I love my crockery - and the collection is getting bigger almost each time I visit a fleamarket or a thrift shop. I display them color organized in my kitchen.

Japanese style
My sister has a thing for Japan and Japanese inspired stuff. This is what she got me for my birthday this year, Sushi magnets, Japanese food miniatures for my cabinet (or for my doll house I'm gonna fix soon) and some lovely broches.
Last year she gave me some great Japanese interior books , lovely pictures which is an advantage as I don't read Japanese very well : )

Softies!
I want to make more of these, think they are quite cute. I need to change one thing though, cannot have the button eyes just in case they fall off, I have to think of something else for eyes. They are made out of towels so they are very soft : )

New old vase
A lovely ceramic vase found at Aktivum last week, only 20kr - a bargain! Can't wait to go back there next week. I have a leather chair in mind that I want to buy and give to my cat! He has his own chair now but it is a cotton fabric chair and it is impossible to keep clean so I'm gonna give leather a chance.

Toddler's pointing board
One of the X-mas gifts for my niece was a "point and learn names" board - a collage of her closest family:

Berlin art
When travelling I always take pictures of artwork that inspire me. Earlier today I was looking through my Berlin pics and found these. I believe this is painting/drawing and some mixed media on a sort of light hand made clay "tile". Unfortunately I don't have the artist's name, but I love the style!

Welcome spring!
Wishful thinking I am afraid, cause this is what it looks like outside my window these days:
I am not a winter person but one good thing about winter is that I get to wear lovely mittens. The little ones here are made for baby Ellen by a friend of my mom -aren't they the cutest? The bigger ones are mine, also handmade but bought in a craft shop, I wear them every day!

Happy birthday to me!
I cannot blog today without saying happy birthday to myself, can I? Happy birthday to me! I've been eating out for both lunch and dinner today. For lunch I met with a friend at Daqota in Oslo. Excellent burger place and they actually accepted bringing the baby gear inside. Read more: http://oslopuls.aftenposten.no/hvaskjer/sted/article143958.ece%3Fwebhit=oslopuls_venue_restaurant
Then for dinner I had sushi! My sister w/family and we went to Regit, another great restaurant in Lillestrøm. "Eat all you can"-sushi delicately prepared and served by the table (not one of those buffets where you don't know how long the sushi has been sitting there) - only 150kr which is a bargain if you ask me! I had like 20 pieces today...
So I guess all together it's been a good birhtday : )
